Special Patrol Officer (SPO) - Open Position
The Town of Camillus Police Department in partnership with the Website Genesee Central School District is looking for positive, career minded, ethically sound and professionally motivated people to join our ranks. We are seeking Candidates to fill one position as Special Patrol Officer, performing school resource officer duties at various schools within the district.
- Required Certification/Special Training
- Valid NYS drivers license
- Valid NYS pistol permit
- Graduate of MPTC Certified Police Academy
- Incident Command System Level 100 and 700 at time of appointment
- Preferred Certification/Special Training
- School Resource Officer Certified
- Certified General Topics Instructor
- Associates Degree or Higher
- Crisis Intervention Team Certified
- CPR, AED, and First Aid Certified
- IRAS (Initial Response to Active Shooter) or Equivalent
Must have had permanent competitive class status as a Police Officer, Sheriff’s Deputy, or New York State Trooper, and be retired.
Applicants must be a retired member of a Police Department, Sheriff’s Office, or the New York State Police. As a New York State Accredited Law Enforcement Agency, the Camillus Police Department conducts a comprehensive background check on successful candidates.
Position is during the academic school year of 185 days. The Town of Camillus is an equal opportunity employer.
